T&C – Standard Chartered Singapore Dinner & Dance 2023

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. REGISTERING FOR, ATTENDING AND/OR PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

1. GENERAL

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the Standard Chartered Singapore Dinner & Dance (“Event”) organised by Standard Chartered Recreation Club (“SCRC”).

1.2 By participating in the Event, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1.3 SCRC reserves the right to amend and/or vary any of these Terms and Conditions without prior notice and you shall agree to such amended and/or varied terms.

1.4 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Singapore and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.

1.5 All information is correct at the time of publishing.

2. REGISTRATION

2.1 The Event is open to all employees of Standard Chartered Bank based in Singapore.

2.2 You must register by following the instructions on the official Event website in advance of the registration closure date provided. SCRC will make reasonable efforts to inform you on your registration status. This includes those who are unsuccessful in securing a place at the Event due to limited capacity.

2.3 Registration is strictly for the named individuals only and is not transferable. If you are unable to attend, you must cancel your registration. You cannot transfer your registration to another employee.

2.4 SCRC in its sole discretion may refuse or reject registration by Employees who have failed to pay a Penalty Fee for a prior SCRC event or who have engaged in inappropriate behaviour at a prior SCRC event.

3. EVENT CHECK-IN

3.1 At the Event itself, you will be required to prove your identity by presenting your physical Employee Pass. This is an important security measure to prevent unauthorised attendees.

3.2 SCRC will in its sole discretion refuse admission at the Event if you fail to present a valid physical Employee Pass. If you are registered for the Event but fail to present the physical Employee Pass, you will be considered a “no-show”, and will be liable to pay the Penalty Fee (see section 4 below).

3.3 Misuse and abuse of Employee Pass will be reported by SCRC to applicable SCRC security personnel for investigation and possible disciplinary proceedings.

3.4 You are reminded that you are responsible to keep safe your employee pass in your possession. Giving your Employee Pass to anyone else (including other employee) is a serious breach of Standard Chartered policies and will most likely result in disciplinary proceedings.

4. CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW PENALTY FEE

4.1 You may cancel your registration at any time before the Cancellation Deadline on the registration system, which is typically one week prior to the Event. No other means of Event cancellation request is accepted. Only in exceptional circumstances, the SCRC may accept and acknowledge by email to the cancellation request of your registration.

4.2 Due to logistical reasons, any cancellation request made after the Cancellation Deadline will not be accepted by the SCRC. The Cancellation Deadline will be clearly stated on applicable Event specific websites and/or in email communication to employee who have registered for it.

4.3 For all confirmed participants: You agree to pay the Penalty Fee of SGD 100 (or a lower amount if stated on the applicable Event information and/or registration websites as applicable) if you fail to cancel your registration before the Cancellation Deadline and/or fail to show up at the Event. You are reminded that your registration is strictly non-transferable, and you cannot ask someone else to attend on your behalf.

4.4 Employee liable to pay a Penalty Fee for an Event may be “blacklisted” from attending any future SCRC events until the Penalty Fee is paid.

5. CONDUCT, RESPONSIBILITIES AND LIABILITIES

5.1 SCRC does not tolerate violence, abuse, discrimination, intimidation, harassment or other offensive behaviour (“Inappropriate Behaviour”).

5.2 If you engage in Inappropriate Behaviour, SCRC will use best endeavours to resolve the situation amicably and may in its sole discretion.
(a) require you to leave the Event immediately,
(b) forcibly eject you from the venue if you refuse to leave quietly and promptly when requested to do so, and/or

(c) ban you from attending future SCRC Events.

5.3 You acknowledge and accept that alcoholic beverages will be available at the Event, and you accept that it is your sole responsibility to consume alcohol in moderation. You are solely responsible for all your actions at the Event, including actions taken under the influence of alcohol.

5.4 You agree to indemnify SCRC on demand against all claims, actions, proceedings, costs and expenses (including legal costs on an indemnity basis), damages, losses, and all other liabilities of whatsoever nature or description which may be brought against, or made, or taken, or incurred, or suffered by SCRC (whether directly or indirectly) in connection with the Event as a result of your participation in the Event.

5.5 You are reminded that this is a corporate event, and that criminal and other Inappropriate Behaviours may result in disciplinary action in addition to being reported to appropriate authorities.

6. USE OF PHOTOS AND VIDEO

6.1 You consent to the taking of photographs and/or video recordings of you during the Event or at any other activity associated with the Event (collectively, the “Images”).

6.2 You understand and agree that the SCRC owns all intellectual property rights in and relating to the Images from the date of creation and may use, publish, amend, modify, delete, adapt, synchronise, screen and/or broadcast rework and/or reproduce (collectively, the “Use”) the Images in internal and external SCRC publications, including on the SCRC’s websites and social media channels, either wholly or in part, in any medium and/or through any channel of distribution, in conjunction with any work for the purposes as intended by and/or for the benefit of the SCRC, free of any encumbrances, anywhere.

6.3 You hereby assign all rights that you may have in or relating to the Images to the SCRC, effective from the time of creation of each of the Images. You agree that the SCRC may assign or sub-license the rights in the Images to any third party at any time without notice to you.

6.4 You waive any rights to select, inspect or approve the Images in their current or finished form, the context and purposes for which they are used, the medium in which they are reproduced, and/or the channel through which they are distributed, broadcasted or otherwise disseminated. You further waive all rights to be identified as the subject of the Images (which you hereby permit the SCRC to publish at its sole discretion) in any media in which the Images are reproduced.

6.5 You understand that you will not receive any compensation, royalties or any other payment whatsoever for the Use of the Images and waive any rights to any compensation, royalties or any other payment associated with the Images.

6.6 You understand that the SCRC may store your contact details on its database in connection with the Images and these details may be stored on a database outside your home territory. Your details will not be used for any other purpose other than in connection with the Images.

6.7 You will not in any way, whether directly or indirectly, interfere with the SCRC’s Use of the said Images, make any claims or seek any injunction or bring any proceedings against the SCRC to prevent or alter the way in which the SCRC decides to use the Images.

7. PRIZES & PRIZE COLLECTION

7.1 You must be pre-registered and checked-in to be eligible to win prizes at the Event. Prizes may be won at various times during the course of the Event – there will be Event-specific cut-off times after which latecomers will no longer be eligible to win those prizes.

7.2 If a prize is won by a table, you must be pre-registered to that table in order to be eligible to claim the prize.

7.3 Prize winners must collect their prizes in person before the end of the Event or the re-draw depending on the prize category. Prize winners are required to show Employee Pass as proof of identification in
the same way as at check-in. Collection by a proxy or collection after the Event has ended will not be entertained under any circumstances.

7.4 You agree that SCRC has final decision on prize winners, gifts and giveaways.

8. WARRANTIES AND DISCLAIMERS

8.1 SCRC will use best endeavours to prepare and run the event in a professional manner and with reasonable care, consistent with similar events of this nature.

8.2 SCRC does not warrant that the event will meet your requirements or expectations. SCRC is not responsible for any issues related to the performance, operation or security of the event that arise from your actions or the actions of third parties.

8.3 To the extent not prohibited by law, there are no express or implied warranties or conditions including for merchantability, satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

9.1 In no event will SCRC or its agents be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, punitive, or exemplary damages. In no event shall the aggregate liability of SCRC or its agents arising out of or related to this agreement, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, exceed the total amounts actually paid by you to SCRC for the event.
