Your personal data is important to CardsPal and it is our policy to respect and protect your personal data. This Policy outlines how we manage the personal data we collect from you in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

 

Personal data we collect from you

We may collect a range of personal data from you including:

  • your name
  • your mobile number
  • your email address

 

How we use your personal data

We will only collect, use, and disclose your personal data for the purposes you have been notified of and consented to or which are otherwise permitted under applicable laws and regulations.

We will not sell, rent or give away personal data to third parties for commercial purposes without your consent.

We may process your personal data to enable us to fulfil the contract between us for purposes including the following:

  • authenticating your credentials and providing you with access to the app and the site;
  • providing you with services as requested by you; and
  • providing customer service, customer support and technical support, including in relation to product updates.

 

We may process your personal data for purposes connected to legal or regulatory duties arising from or connected to services you have requested, including complying with and monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations directives, judgments or court orders, government sanctions or embargoes, reporting requirements under financial transactions legislation, and demands of any authority, regulator, tribunal, enforcement agency, or exchange body.

 

We may also process your personal data in line with voluntary codes and/or in compliance with internal policies (including that of our affiliates), contractual obligations (including between us and our affiliates), good practice standards and other requirements where it is in our legitimate interest to do so.

 

We may also process your personal data where it is in our legitimate interests to seek professional advice, including, in connection with any legal proceedings (including any prospective legal proceedings), for obtaining legal advice or for establishing, exercising or defending legal rights.

Depending on the type of personal data and the purpose of processing that data, we may disclose your personal data to:

  • our affiliates anywhere in the world, including any officer, employee, agent or director of any affiliate;
  • our joint venture partners, business alliance partners or other investors;
  • our professional advisers and service providers in order to provide administrative, financial, legal, accounting, information technology, research or other services;
  • a merchant or a member of a card association where the disclosure is in connection with use of a card;
  • anyone authorised by you, as specified by you or in any contract with you;
  • any person to whom disclosure is required or permitted under applicable laws and regulations;
  • anyone we consider necessary to facilitate requests for services or applications for products with our affiliates; and
  • anyone we consider necessary in order to provide services in connection with a product or service.

 

Marketing

We may use your personal data for marketing purposes

However, we will only send you marketing material if you have specifically asked us to do so. Even if you have asked us to send you such marketing material, you have the right to opt out of receiving such material at any time without penalty. To do so you can click the “unsubscribe” button contained in any marketing material or contact us using the details below.

If you do change your mind and ask us not to send you marketing material or other promotional or research material you had previously consented to receive, we may need to retain a record that you have asked us not to do so to ensure that you do not receive anything further.

 

Security

Personal data may be transferred to, or stored at, a location outside of your country of residence, which may not have data protection law. The security of your personal data is important to us. We have technical and organisational security measures in place to safeguard your personal data. When using external service providers, we require that they adhere to security standards mandated by us. We may do this through contractual provisions, including any required by a privacy regulator, and oversight of the service provider. Regardless of where personal data is transferred, we take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that personal data is kept securely.

However, you will appreciate that it is not for us to perfectly secure your personal data from cyberattacks, such as hacking, spyware and viruses. Accordingly, you will not hold us liable for any unauthorised disclosure, loss or destruction of your personal data arising from such risks.

 

Retention

We retain your personal data in line with our legal and regulatory obligations and for business and operational purposes. In the majority of cases this will be for seven years from the end of your relationship with us.

 

Your rights

We will not send you marketing material unless you have specifically asked us to do so. You have the right to opt out of receiving marketing material at any time as described in the Marketing section above.

To make a request to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of, or to object to the way in which we process, the personal data we hold about you, or to make a request to withdraw any consent previously given, you can contact our Data Protection Officer (details below).
